What are the system
requirements? - Microsoft Office Excel 2003/7MB Space. - TOP
Why is the Price so low? -
Well, I figured that once an estimating program is finished, I don't have to do
anything else to it. No repainting. No re-roofing. All I have to do is sell it.
It took a long time to put it all together, but it's such a great program, I'm
confident it's going to take off and I won't have to worry about money. Besides,
I'm trying to be competitive: I'm the new guy on the block...TOP
Are Estimagic Programs difficult to learn? - Not at all. The only thing you need know how to do is read a measuring tape and input dimensions. Microsoft Excel is an excellent program for estimating and tracking purposes.
You can also track labor costs and are able to easily adjust rates. All worksheets are cross-linked so you only have to input data once and you're finished.- TOP
How accurate are the results? - Extremely. To 1/128 of an inch. You can input any dimension. You can even put in a negative slope, for instance, and still receive exact counts.
You are also able to adjust waste percentages. You know a valley or a hip is
going to use a lot more waste than a gable. And a steep hip is going to use more
than a low hip. - TOP.
Is it necessary to input data using the decimal system? - For the slope, no. Any fraction will work. For Width and Length dimension, yes. At the bottom of the Take-Off Material Sheet, there is an easy-to-use "Feet & Inches to Decimal Converter". - TOP
How about support?
- There is an in-depth support sub-site included with the files. - Every
cell is explained in detail with images and tips. If that doesn't get it for you,
email:
support@estimagic.com or call us at (407) 260-8459 M-F 9 - 5 and we'll
figure it out.- TOP
Do you have any other
construction estimating programs? -
The Roofing Estimator is only the first in a series. We have big plans in the
making. In
September 2007 we will release our Concrete/Masonry version. - TOP
Do you guarantee
the accuracy? - There's always the chance of user error, of course, but if
you put in the correct dimensions, I have no doubt that it's correct to 1/128 of
an inch. Actually, it's even tighter than that
(How about 1/256 of an inch?)
but unless you're working for NASA, who needs it?. - TOP
How can you be so sure? -
Believe me. I spent my time on top of many a hot roof. We had no guns or
compressors or shingle lifts. My knuckles looked like camels knees. I'm a little
guy but I carried my share of bundles to the top of the ridge. And I know what a
pain it is to try to figure out what it takes to cover a complicated roof on the
back of a scrap of plywood. Test it out. Do a roof take-off the old-fashioned
way. Then try it the Estimagic Way... - TOP
Where was this product made?
- In the good old United States. - TOP
